Ward Mulberry

(Morus rubra) Zone 6-9

A Pecan Hill Farms introduction, Ward is a red mulberry selection found next to our pecan orchard in central Mississippi. It produces an exceptionally heavy crop of slightly smaller than average size fruit. The fruit has excellent flavor. Ward drops its fruit over 7-8 weeks. Grafted trees should produce fruit by the second year. Requires a pollinator.
