Lakota is a recent USDA released cultivar. It is very precocious, has outstanding scab resistance and is very productive. Lakota has exceptional quality with bright kernels from its medium sized nuts. Nuts mature very early, usually by the end of September. Lakota may have to be crop thinned if overbearing becomes a problem on mature trees.
