"Sunset" Grafted American Persimmon

(Diospryros virginiana) Zone 4-9

American Persimmon trees are either male or female, and only the females will produce fruit.  Sunset, a Pecan Hill Farms introduction, is from a mother tree that produces heavy crops of fruit that normally drop from November to December. The grafted trees should be planted with seedling trees for pollination. They should start producing in 3 to 4 years. Sunset is excellent for wildlife habitat, especially for whitetail deer.

Fruit Drop: November-December
